Pessin Katz Law, P.A. (PK Law) has announced the appointment of Lauren B. Ades, Member, to Chair of the firm’s Corporate and Real Estate Group, marking the first woman to ascend to this position in the more than 30-year history of PK Law. Ms. Ades has been associated with the firm since 2006 and concentrates on the areas of corporate and business law, commercial financing and real estate. She has demonstrated proficiency in all areas of corporate and business law, including mergers and acquisitions, business formation and real estate transactions.  Paired with her highly-refined communication, organizational and leadership skills she plans to elevate the visibility of the group in the regional business community and will oversee all strategic planning and practice development initiatives for the group.

Ms. Ades graduated from the New York Law School, magna cum laude in 2006.  She received her B.A. from Emory University, Goizueta Business School with Distinction.  She is a Member of The Associated Board of Directors; Member and past Chair of IMPACT Board, the young adult division of The Associated; and Board Member of the Center for Jewish Education.  She was the 2018 recipient of the Harry Greenstein Young Leadership Award, which salutes an outstanding young man or woman who has demonstrated remarkable growth and leadership as well as a profound commitment and sustained leadership to The Associated, its annual campaign and the general community.  She received The Daily Record Leading Women Award in 2015 and The Daily Record VIP Award in 2013.

Ms. Ades’ appointment marks another step forward in the firm’s promotion of diversity within the firm.  PK Law has already been recognized for its progress, having one of the highest number of female partners among Baltimore area firms.
