Litigation Associate (Towson Office): Opportunity available for an Associate with two to eight years of litigation experience. Candidates should have excellent writing, research and analytical skills. Trial experience preferred. Admission to Maryland Bar required. Comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Legal research and analysis
  • Document management
  • Providing advice and legal counsel to clients
  • Drafting and responding to various motions, discovery and other legal documents
  • Conducting depositions and representing clients at trial
  • Managing and prioritizing multiple case deadlines

Lateral Hires: PK Law is currently seeking qualified lateral hires.  Qualified candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience practicing law and a transferable book of business.

Management Staff:

The management staff at Pessin Katz Law, P.A., includes leadership positions in finance, human resources, information technology and marketing.  The Chief Financial Officer, Chief Business Development Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer work together in overseeing various projects/initiatives for the firm as well as directing their respective department’s activities.   The management staff is committed to supporting our attorneys to ensure the firm is able to provide the highest level of service to our clients.

Support Staff:

Our staff is dedicated to providing excellent client service.  Support staff positions at Pessin Katz Law, P.A., include paralegals, legal administrative assistants, accounting, human resources, marketing and other similar administrative support positions.   A team approach is used throughout all of our departments providing a work environment that is collegial, supportive and flexible.

Legal Administrative Assistant (Towson).  Opportunity available for Legal Administrative Assistant with a minimum of three years of litigation experience. Responsibilities include providing administrative support to attorneys in Litigation Practice Group. Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Preparing pleadings and filing documents with the courts (use of MDEC)
  • Scheduling depositions
  • Assisting attorneys/paralegals with trial preparation
  • Interacting with clients
  • Transcribing dictation
  • Composing routine business correspondence
  • Scheduling/arranging meetings
  • Coordination of attorneys’ calendars
  • Maintaining files, including opening/closing of client files
  • Coordinating monthly client billing with Accounting Department
  • Other similar administrative duties

In addition to a minimum of three years of litigation experience, additional qualifications include excellent written and oral communication skills, proactive work ethic, attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple tasks/deadlines. Strong day-to-day organizational skills, a client service focus and ability to work as part of a team are essential. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Word and MDEC.

Paralegal (Medical Malpractice).  Seeking medical malpractice paralegal with minimum of two years’ experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Trial preparation
  • Overseeing processing/tracking of subpoenas for medical records
  • Preparing exhibits
  • Conducting legal research
  • Other similar duties.

Attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills are essential.  Bachelor’s Degree/certificate in paralegal studies or experience equivalent required.

Paralegal/Case Manager (Towson): Seeking an Elder Law Paralegal/Case Manager with at least three years of experience with preparing Medicaid claims.  Duties include preparing and submitting medical assistance applications; interviewing prospective clients; preparing client summaries; and drafting medical consents, advanced health care directives and other similar documents.  Qualified candidates will possess Paralegal degree or experience equivalent.  Additional qualifications include excellent analytical and organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.   Strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills essential
