Ryan Carter is an Associate in the Firm’s General Litigation Group.  He is an experienced litigator and represents clients in State and Federal Courts across Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia. Mr. Carter focuses his practice on the representation of businesses and individuals in a wide range of civil litigation matters, including contract, tort, family/domestic law, and commercial/business litigation. Mr. Carter works to establish close working relationships with each of his clients and cost-effective and efficient resolutions but also aggressively handles any case through trial, when necessary.
Prior to joining PK Law, Mr. Carter was as an attorney with a firm in Baltimore City where he practiced civil litigation. Mr. Carter’s practice predominantly involved the defense of products liability matters, breach of warranty, tort, and statutory claims against various manufacturers and distributors. Mr. Carter also worked on labor and employment matters through the firm’s representation of two police labor unions, as well as commercial and business litigation.
Mr. Carter’s areas of practice include:
- Commercial/business litigation;
- Tort matters, including personal injury, automobile accidents, slip and falls, and products liability;
- Family/domestic law, including protective order proceedings and contested and uncontested divorce; and
- Labor and Employment.
Some of Mr. Carter’s representative engagements include:
- Successful defense of tort claims including personal injury and products liability through trial;
- Successful defense of replevin/detinue claims against individuals and automobile dealerships through trial;
- Successful defense of timeshare cancellation company being sued for breach of contract and fraud through trial;
- Successful defense of automobile distributor being sued for breach of contract and fraud through trial;
- Successful representation of a plaintiff claiming breach of contract and fraud against a contractor through trial obtaining a judgment in favor of the plaintiff;
- Successful representation of creditors in a foreclosure surplus proceeds action;
- Successful representation of a homeowner being cited for housing code violations before the Baltimore City Environmental Control Board;
- Successful representation of an automobile dealership involving odometer fraud claims; and
- Successful representation of numerous clients in both commercial and residential lease matters.
