PK Law is pleased to welcome Attorney Herbert Burgunder III, as a Member, to the firm.

TrippBurgunder2Mr. Burgunder is part of the Firm’s Corporate and Real Estate Group. He represents real estate developers, property managers, brokers, renovation companies, engineers, landlords, real estate agents, business owners, and profit and not-for-profit organizations in commercial and residential real estate; land use and zoning, including variances, conditional uses, grandfathered uses, non-confirming uses, special exceptions, zoning appeals and changes in use; business law; contracts; and landlord/tenant matters.  He has developed a strong practice that he plans to continue to expand and develop with the support of PK Law.

Mr. Burgunder is a 1994 graduate of the University of Baltimore Law School and a 1991 graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government.  Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Burgunder regulated charitable organizations for the State of Maryland and promoted business development in Maryland in the Department of Business and Economic Development.

In addition to practicing, Mr. Burgunder taught at the University of Maryland Law School as an adjunct faculty member in the Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research program. These courses focused on legal writing for trial and appeals.  He is the author of two chapters in continuing education books for lawyers: Residential Real Estate Transactions, Chapter 6 – Pre-Closing Problems and Practice Manual for the Maryland Lawyer, Chapter 12 – Real Estate Transactions in Maryland. He is also the author of Effective Legal Writing, Maryland Bar Journal, Volume XXXII, November/December 1999; and the author of Effective Legal Writing: Preserving the Power of “Shall,” The Advocate, Volume 16, Number 2, Winter 2001.

He is on the Board of Trustees for the Friends School of Baltimore and provides pro bono services to a number of charitable organizations including Light of Truth Center, Inc. and 2 God B The Glory, Inc.
